Whistler, British Columbia is a Mountain Biking Mecca and home to the world’s largest MTB festival, Crankworx. This week-long celebration of all things off road is held each summer and is by far one of the gnarliest sporting events on the planet. A totally wicked spectacle, Crankworx involves the world’s best riders punching trails in BC’s finest alpine countryside. Throughout the week, thousands of riders shred the mountain, while getting super sideways on massive ramps. Events like the GIANT slalom, Canadian Open Downhill and the world famous Whip Off comp, provide action packed entertainment for spectators and riders alike. This year’s Whip Off comp was won by a 14 year old local, Finn Iles, who defied gravity and hung his MTB out super sideways, to beat some of the world’s most insane riders.

Haydn has been bitten by the cycling bug and bitten hard. Like most Aussie kids, he grew up riding his beloved chrome BMX before moving onto a Mountain Bike. Haydn describes his transition onto a road bike as a Renaissance and since that time has never looked back. If not riding the awesome roads of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Haydn can often be found photographing local cycling events. As Pedaltorque co-founder, Haydn is responsible for editing and photography. He rides a Specialized Tarmac.
